You Bet Your Bootie!! (a giveaway!)
Sunday, March 13, 2011
I know that I'm not the only one on a silent quest to find the mythical fitting bootie. Ya know, a baby slipper that actually stays on the kids foot, instead of the floor?
Does it really exist? Has it ever existed?
Three kids in, and a hundred pairs of shoes later-
So the answer to that last question is yes!
I thought that I had found them before, having gotten a pair for Charlie with a velcro strap that fit snugly around the ankle. Those ones did stay on, but they didn't make them past size newborn, sooo... 3 days into wearing them, his toes were ripping the seams and I was grabbing my lantern, heading back into dimly lit caves hoping to find the fountain of feet coverings.
Ok, but we're not talking about then, we're talking about now. So, let me just repeat it for ya...
Booties that stay on!
Booties that stay on! Booties that stay on! Booties that stay on!
Have I mentioned that my kids have the roundest feet ever? This is probably part of my problem, because I've never heard anybody else complain about it as much as I do (maybe y'all just don't do it publicly?).
Baby shoes have always been out of the question. Who buys those anyways? Sure I've browsed the infant shoes at Target, holding up the little size 1's, and making a pouty face and saying things in a high pitched tone of voice that can only be understood by puppy dogs with the keenest ears, but- never ever have my children been able to wear them.
Has anyones?
I just don't get it.
Soooo, do ya wanna see these things in action? Because sure, I guess its easy to find a bootie that will stay on, as long as the baby doesn't move, but- these ones stay on all the time! Through everything.
And I have proof!
...see, I told you! I didn't make it up. I really did find the holy grail of cotton and elastic!
Evelyn's feet are never cold anymore. The inside of the booties are lined with this really soft and fuzzy faux sherpa, and the bottoms are faux suede. Not that I'm into what fabric is what, or anything, but- they look and feel fancy. Thats all you need to know.
At first, the booties were a little too big. I had chosen the "flight school" design (because we're Air Force and geek out over planes). They'd stay on for the most part, but occasionally one would slip off, I'd pout about it, put it back on, and then decided that we'd wear them over tights. To be fair though, she was only 5 months old, wearing the 6-12 month size (it was an awkward age, I didn't want to buy the smaller size that she'd only wear for a month).
But almost like clockwork, as soon as she turned 6 months old, tights were no longer needed, they suddenly fit her perfectly.
Oh you guys.
You have to get some.
You have to try them!
Your baby needs them.
Warm toes! Cozy toes! Toes toes toes!
So whos the myth buster, you wonder? Bison Booties. And how awesome is she? Well shes giving away a pair to you, so I'd say pretty awesome!
This contest is open to both US and Canadian residents. Contest ends Friday March 18th, 2011.

-Tweet about this contest on Twitter : Win a cute pair of booties that will stay on baby's feet! http://christopherandtia.blogspot.com/2011/03/you-bet-your-bootie-giveaway.html
Thats it, friends! Now isn't that so nice of her? And even if you don't win, I highly encourage y'all to get yourself a pair. Yeeess, they're kind of spendy, but, just think about how awesome it will be to not have to constantly be picking up baby socks that have fallen off, and to not have to worry about losing a bootie mid shopping trip.
When Evelyn outgrows the airplanes, I'm hoping to get her these, maybe? We'll see. I kind of like them all.
(yep, I'm breaking the rules for this one- comments are open)
