I hate the smell of dirty sponge.

Our dishwasher is still broken. These would come in really handy right about now...

Bleh, me too. Like when my husband doesn't squeeze it out and it sits. Stale soapy water. *gag*
Oh auntie thats the worst. If our sponge hasn't been squeezed out properly, it usually ends up being thrown out. A dirty sponge is just one thing I can't handle. I make sure to wash it out properly after I'm done using it. Finally I've got the husband trained to do the same, haha.
I'm telling you... hand knit dish cloths instead of sponges! You can wash them every day if you want and they never get nasty like sponges.
Sponges give me the heebie-jeebies!
(I'm sure you can find them on Etsy for real cheap, I got my hand knit swiffer cover off Etsy for cheap enough that it was worth it to have someone else do the knitting... including shipping it was some of the best $6 I ever spent!)
I would wash dishes more if I had those fun dish washing gloves.
yeah, the smell of dirty sponges and dish towels is pretty terrible. i despise walking in the kitchen and getting a whiff of a funky dish rag.
oh, and as mentioned in the first comment...the stale, cold dish water filled with crap. yucky.
